February, 1942. Operation Biting. On a cliff on the coast of Normandy sits a radar facility belonging to the German forces. In the first operation assigned to their battalion, the 2nd Parachute Battalion must secure the area so RAF radio technician Sergeant Charlie Cox can dismantle the radar and bring the key components home for analysis. On the eve of the mission, paratrooper Theo Trickey learns that if it all goes wrong and the men are captured by the Luftwaffe, Charlie Cox – with his technical knowledge and insight into British research – must not be taken alive. Theo and his brothers in arms prepare themselves for battle, but not for the difficult choices they face. Their deployment takes them from Normandy to North Africa and Italy to join the campaign against Rommel before finally arriving in war-torn Germany for the final climax of WWII.
