Memory Care

Bayside Libraries hold a collection that reflects the different interests, different formats and different reading levels of our community. We would like to support our members who have dementia, and their families and carers, to feel they can continue to explore whatever brings them pleasure and engagement. We have put together a list of items that we know will suit some people with dementia, but not everyone. Please use this suggested list of titles as a supplement or springboard to what you feel would be of interest for yourself, or for the person you are borrowing for. At any time, please ask our Positive Ageing Librarian to help with finding something specifically for your needs.

Other Resources

Dementia Australia has many resources in more than 40 languages. You can find help sheets, toolkits, guides, videos, websites, apps, brochures, and infographics on their website.

Connections: Art and dementia program is a program run by the Bayside Gallery.  It is open to people living with dementia in residential care facilities, who can regularly attend across a series of four weekly tours with Bayside Gallery staff.
