B&W photograph, 24 x 18cm. Head and shoulders portrait of Donald Alister MacDonald (1857-1932). He joined the Argus Newspaper in 1881 and was associated with it for more than 50 years. He is remembered for his naturalistic writing and essays incliding 'The Bush Boy's Book' and 'At The End Of The Moonpath'. He is remembered in Beaumaris by the Donald MacDonald Reserve, an area of remnant vegetation.
