Marine Science & Ecology was contracted on 29th August 1999 to undertake a study of marine life in the Ricketts Point area.... The study objectives were: - to identifiy taxa of macroscopic flora and fauna present in the study area and to estimate their abundance -- to review informaiton on the study area in previous studies and/or provided by the local community -- to provide an expert opinion on the current ecological health of the study area, the processes affecting this, and suggestions about measures to reduce the impact of harmful processes. .-- To outline methods which could be used by local community groups in continuing monitoring of the health of the study area.
