Bob Connolly and Sophie Raymond approached MLC (a Sydney girls' school) in 2008 to document in film the work of their music director Karen Carey and her Music Department as they led the girls over fifteen months to the now traditional, Biennial Opera House performance in 2009. Carey inspires many of her girls, but some do not share her passion and are not afraid to say so.
