Detective Zhong Fong, former head of special investigations with the Shanghai police, has been branded a traitor and exiled to a sleepy village in northwestern China. David Rotenberg is the author of four other Zhong Fong mysteries, as well as the novel Shanghai. He is one of Canada's foremost directors and acting teachers and has directed plays on Broadway and in Canada, South Africa and China.
