Palo and Mala play together all day long when they are young, dancing with the baboons and running with the zebra. But as they grow up, they develop very different personalities. Mother Elephant wonders how they will find happiness when the time comes for them to go out into the world on their own. Gentle Palo needs a place where he can live peacefully, and spirited Mala needs to find a home where she feels free. And so Mother Elephant calls on the great eagle to circle the earth until she finds a place where Mala and Palo will be able to settle down.
