Waiting Under Southern Skies is a selection of evocative, and previously unpublished, images from Colin Abbot's personal archive of over 50 years documenting Australia life, as presented to him. It is an intimate narrative of people and place during a period of immense social change in Australia. The election of the Whitlam Government in December 1972 brought immense change to Australian society - the end of the hated conscription, changes to education, health, women.s issues, social services and the start of environmental protection to name a few.
