Book a Meeting Room at the Library

Our libraries at Brighton and Sandringham have meeting and study spaces that you can access.

In line with the Victorian State Government’s 4 square metres per person and physical distancing requirements, the meeting rooms have reduced capacity limits as listed below. 

 

Brighton Library

Audiovisual equipment and wi-fi
Audiovisual equipment with HDMI and VGA connections are available in our meeting rooms at Sandringham Library. Basic instructions are provided in the room.

It's important that you familiarise yourself with the equipment as library staff cannot provide technical assistance.

Free access to the library wi-fi network is available in all spaces.

 

Conditions of meeting room use

  • Booking of meeting rooms requires a valid Library membership, or ID
  • Priority is given to Library programs and Library-partnered events
  • Bookings are for 2 hours. Rooms will be released for others to use after 15 minutes if the customer is not present
  • Limit of one booking per person, per day
  • Room bookings may be made up to seven days in advance.
  • If there is no subsequent booking, you may stay in the room until it is booked by another person
  • Room bookings are on a first come, first-served basis
  • The Library reserves the right to review recurring use by any group to ensure equitable access
  • The Library reserves the right to cancel a booking under special circumstances with reasonable notice (24 hours)
  • The Library is unable to promote private events and programs in meeting and event spaces
  • Customers may not advertise that the event is sponsored or supported by the Library unless given written permission from the Library to do so
  • Attendance at the event cannot exceed the posted maximum for the room
  • Customers must abide by all Library regulations and are responsible for any damage incurred due to the use of the room
  • The space must be left in the condition in which it was found
  • If the noise levels are louder than reasonable, you will be asked to vacate the rooms.
  • No catering facilities provided. The library is not a licensed venue, so no alcohol is permitted.
