The night raids

Kelly, Jim, 1957-2020
Books
A lone German bomber flies up the east coast of Britain on a moonless night in the long hot summer of 1940. The pilot picks up the silver thread of a river and follows it to his target: Cambridge's rail yards. But the bombshell falls short, landing in a residential area near the city centre. DI Eden Brooke is first on the scene and discovers the body of an elderly woman, Nora Wylde. Two fingers on her left hand have been severed, in what looks like a brutal attempt by looters to steal her rings. But when Nora's teenage granddaughter, Peggy, is reported missing the very next day, Brooke realises there is more to the situation that meets the eye.
