White Fang, a wolf-dog, teams up with a journalist and a young boy to prevent a villainous outlaw from stealing a gold mine in the Klondike region of Canada during the Gold Rush era. Challenge to White Fang in Italian: Il ritorno di Zanna Bianca is a 1974 Italian Northern adventure film directed by Lucio Fulci. It is a sequel to Fulci's White Fang (1973), as part of a trend inspired by Call of the Wild (1972), which was a surprise hit in Italy. Two German productions in this trend were Hellhounds of Alaska and Cry of the Black Wolves, both directed by Harald Reinl. White Fang is found by an old trader, and taken to a nearby town. There, he befriends a young boy and a journalist named Jason Scott. Scott is investigating a notorious outlaw, who is posing as a wealthy businessman named Mr. Forth. This one is planning to steal a gold mine that was discovered by a dying prospector and left to his grandson, Bill. White Fang helps Scott and Bill to expose Smith's true identity and stop him from stealing the gold mine. Along the way, they must battle Smith's henchmen, overcome dangerous terrain, and face other challenges.
