Ultimately, it's been quite a rewarding journey to a successful recovery. These poems are about the different stages of recovery. The title of the book was born when late one night, 3 or 4 am, I was writing a poem and my phone pinged. A message from the USA asking why I was not sleeping. I replied, "some words woke me". My friend said, "that should be the name of your book". Some words woke me in more ways than one! I hope this book resonates with men going through prostate cancer and that my journey may help them to realise they are not alone.
