Beach road : a novel

Patterson, James, 1947-2006
Large Print
Tom Dunleavy has a one-man law firm in East Hampton, summer home to the rich and famous. But he works for those whose livings are made by serving the rich - the wealthy summer visitors have their own lawyers. Then a friend of Tom's is arrested for a triple murder near a movie star's mansion. Tom knows that Dante Halleyville is innocent. Dante asks Tom to represent him in what could be the new trial of the century. Tom's ex-girlfriend, Manhattan superlawyer Kate Costello, returns to help fight the case. It seems a straightforward investigation. But even as Tom wonders whether Kate could forgive him for his past sins, the case takes on astonishing dimensions, revealing a world of illegal pleasures, revenge and fear among the super-rich.
