Construction date 1890. Both villas are 2 storeyed detached terraces. Samuel Stokes, a gentleman, built the 2 dwellings. In 1891 Elliott White, a brewer, rented and purchased no. 24, later known as Laurista. No. 22 was rented to George Lilly. In 1905 it was rented to Agnes Clarke and was known as Beaupre. These houses are of local importance as the architecture is unsual in Brighton. Mrs Clarke ran a school in Beaupre, which was previously located in Stanley street.
