Victorian Premiers' Reading Challenge
The Victorian Premier's Reading Challenge is a great way to gain confidence reading. The Challenge encourages children from pre-school to year 10 to read a set number of books over the year and record their reading online.
The Premier's Reading Challenge runs from March until September each year.
To help you find great books to read, our Librarians have compiled these age appropriate lists. May of these titles are also available in our eLibrary.

Overdrive is a terrific resource for finding best sellers, classics, and more, for all ages. Overdrive also has titles in many languages such as French, Chinese and Arabic. The app for Overdrive is called Libby and is available for free from app stores.

TumbleBooks offers animated, read-along picture books, and read-along chapter books for kids from preschool to middle-years.

Hoopla has eBooks and eAudiobooks for all ages, but its real standout is that it offers comics and graphic novels from major publishers like DC, Marvel, Image and Dark Horse.

Curiosity Collection!
Explore Coding and discover emerging technology with our Create Play Learn kits that you can borrow.
Rainforest Coding is an interactive adventure that will introduce you to the programming language 'Scratch'.
Swopbots is a platform and puzzle game that will teach you coding.
Learn and play with interactive STEAM experiences that you can borrow from the library. Our kits include Micro:Bit, Makey Makey, Spero SPRK and Lego Boost.

Britannica For Kids is ideal if you are looking for an online encyclopedia. When you log in, you can pick whether you want to be connected to the primary school, middle or high school version of the encyclopedia.
Mango Languages is a great resource for if you are interested in learning a new language or improving their English skills, and there are over 70 languages to choose from. Note: If you are interested in language learning for young children, check out the Little Pim videos available on Kanopy.
