Fergus McMaster co-founded QANTAS with Hudson Fysh and Paul McGuinness in 1920. Following the First World War, these three men, driven by passion, foresight and adventure for aviation, started the now internationally recognised iconic airline with the red kangaroo on its tail. From humble beginnings in outback Queensland QANTAS grew to the most successful airline in the world. 'QANTAS was conceived in Cloncurry, born in Winton and grew up in Longreach', said Hudson Fysh. Fergus McMaster, chairman of QANTAS, was instrumental in the early success of the airline. This is his story.
