Kamesborough was built by William Kerr Thompson in 1874. In 1892 the property was purchased by Duncan McBryde. In 1918 the repatriation commission purchased the property and it became a hostel for totally incapacitated ex-servicemen and was renamed Anzac Hostel. It is now leased to the Star of the Sea convent.
